Harper's Island 1x11- Splash

One of the best television episodes ever. I really mean it, it was so emotional, it actually had me tearing up. I could not believe my eyes when one of the most tragic things ever happened on the show. It's really making Harper's Island a favourite, and this episode really deserves to be there. Honestly, I have never been so sad before, and I thought Prue Halliwell's funeral from Charmed was emotional, if I watch the last few scenes of this episode again I will actually cry.
.
To tell you the truth, I have never cried in like 2 years, I just literally can't get myself to cry, I would love to cry and let it all out, but my body just won't let me lol wierd. But this episode is making me cry, and I urge people to watch the series, because it is shining.
.
Don't read ahead if you don't want to be spoiled. Unfortunatly, I spoilt the episode for myself before I watched it, I just had to go on Wikipedia and look at the death chart to see that my favourite character and the love of her life both die in this episode. Chloe + Cal are the best television couple ever, next to Melinda and Jim. There is nothing more sad than watching your soon-to-be husband get killed.
.
The one scene I will focus on is their death scene, because that single scene turned Harper's Island into one of the best shows in my opinion. The music was tear-worthy when this all happened, like I am listening to it now and it just makes me tear up. The last few minutes of the episode have Shea finding out there is a second killer, who seems to be Jimmy, who is currently with Trish in a car and he looks at her with an evil look, attempting to steal her gun as she sleeps, but she wakes up, the future isn't looking good for her.
.
Chloe was kidnapped by Wakefield, the killer, and locked in a drain, and Cal, Abby and Henry go looking for her in the woods, as Wakefield makes an appearance and Abby and Henry attempt to distract him as Cal goes to look for Chloe. He finally finds her and lets her out, and asks her to be his wife, in which she replies "yes" and they share a brief intimate moment, which is ruined by Wakefield himself. Cal and Chloe run down the bridge, which has been blocked in the middle, and Cal tells Chloe to climb around, and she gets halfway until Wakefield makes his way to him, and Cal tells Chloe that he loves her. It is just so sad, and so emotional, the most emotional in television history.
.
Cal tries to protect himself from Wakefield, but unfortunatly Chloe has to watch as Wakefield drives a boarding knife into Cal's chest, and he looks at her, hoping she would get fully around and escape Wakefield before being thrown over the side. The music hear is so sad, its "Letters From the Sky" by Civil Twilight, honestly, it just sets the scene up beautifully.
.
Then, Chloe screams and cries as she sees her lover falling into the water. She sees him floating, and looks at Wakefield for a few seconds of silence, before she says "You Can't Have Me". And Oh My God, she lets go, and lets herself fall into the river, which the bridge was very high up, and she lands in the river, floating at the top right next to her deceased fiance.
.
Really, I will not get over this for years, they so should have done something like this for Edie Britt in Desperate Housewives, now that would have been a much better send-off for her. But Chloe is just amazing, I am so so sad she is gone from the show now, I will really miss her.

"Harper's Island" Episodes 5-10 Review

Harper's Island is an amazing series I have just decided. I can't believe the ratings it has been getting lately, because it really does deserve more than just 3 millions for the past few episodes, but that is probably down to it being aired on Global first and then on CBS, so the ratings would suffer.
.
Episode 5 was an amazing episode, and don't read ahead if you don't want to be spoiled. I loved the whole of it really, from when Trish and Thomas get stranded in the woods and then that scary man with a dog just showed up out of nowhere and set the dog on them, I was like "uh-oh, who the hell does he think he is?", but noneless it was great entertainment. I was shocked by the end, I didn't think Thomas would die so early, I would have thought that he would have lived a lot longer, maybe until episode 9 or 10, but not as early as 5. But oh well, it was a very dramatic scene, and it definetly began the whole awareness for the rest of them.
.
Episode 6 was just as good, and very emotional, because the actors and actresses do amazing jobs at crying and creating drama, and even comedy. Mourning Thomas was one of the saddest things on the show yet, bless him. The scene with Cal and Chloe in the bar when that man had found Cal's ring and proposed to his wife with it and Cal tells Chloe, and Chloe comes up with a sly plan to get it back, and it worked, she is amazing, I loved that scene, she was so funny, definetly what the show needed.
.
Episode 7 wasn't as good as the last 2, but it still packed a punch with everyone getting ready to go off the island, but then that Madison had to get kidnapped and so people couldn't go and that meant more people would die. I felt sorry for Malcolm, bless him, he was desperate for money and he needed it.
.
Episode 8 was okay too, it wasn't the best, but it definetly had a lot of good scenes with the flashbacks and the identity of the killer is twisted and even more mystery than ever. I do enjoy the episodes whether not much happens, but I watched it a while ago now so I've basically forgot what happened really, but I do remember J.D. dies, and I was quite glad, he was kind of getting on my nerves.
.
Episode 9 really picked up when they're looking for Madison while trapped in the hotel, and there was even more great acting, especially from Gina Holden's Shea. Beth goes missing and the rest try to look for her, while others try to get off the island, but decide not to because if they do then Madison will be killed. I'm glad Cal and Chloe are like the perfect couple, they are amazing. They find Beth, bless her, she is dead, and then at the very end, Shane finds Katherine freshly dead in the conservatory, just as Madison is saved and reveals that Abby's dad, the sheriff, is the one who kidnapped her.
.
Episode 10 was just amazing. Everyone thinks the sheriff is the killer, and that Abby might be Wakefield's daughter. I really love all these revelations, but there is a plot twist coming up. Later in the episode, Maggie, who I didn't really like, thinks she will be safe after the survivors take refuge in the town's local bar, and then she goes wandering off thinking the killer won't go after her, is she dense? Of course, she dies. And then the boat explosion which Jimmy was on, but for some reason, Wakefield brought Jimmy alive and nearly unharmed to them. That really made me suspect Jimmy though. At the end, Abby goes to see her father at the hotel, who reveals that Wakefield is not her dad, and that Wakefield is still alive, and is the killer. Unfortunatly, Abby sees her dad get killed and runs outside to see him hanging, just like her mother years before. And the cliffhanger is when Wakefield comes up behind Abby, and says "You look just like your mother."
.
Scary series but it is an amazing series, I have really grown to love it and I am so glad I decided to get into the show, I so recommend watching it.

Leyton's Last Season in "One Tree Hill" Season 6 DVD

One Tree Hill is a CW television show, and is currently signed on for a seventh season. Unfortunatly, Peyton won't be in Season 7. Neither will Lucas, but I don't mind about him, I'm not a Lucas fan, I love Peyton more, even though Brooke is my favourite character. Will Season 7 be good? Who knows until it airs. But, the season six finale would have made a perfect series finale, so if the show has ended in many Lucas and Peyton fan's eyes, then you don't want to miss their last season, and you could always pretend it was the last ever season.
.
I've heard a lot of comments about One Tree Hill season 6 being a little boring, but when I caught up with it after watching it without them constant breaks that they seem to like on television, I actually enjoyed it thoroughly. The premiere was compelling, and the whole season followed suite. So I will definetly be buying the DVD once it is available on Region 2, which will be October 5, 2009, and Region 1 people will be able to purchase it on August 25, 2009.
.
Not the best season, but definetly not the worst. Many online shops are taking pre-orders, including Amazon.com for the US, and for the UK, Amazon.co.uk as well as HMV are taking pre-orders. I don't think I will pre-order it, but I will probably buy it when I see it in the shop. Enjoy the rear artwork for the DVD below.

"Brothers & Sisters" Season Three Review

Well Brothers & Sisters isn't my favourite show, or in the top 5 I don't think. Mainly because Season 1 and 2 weren't as good as other shows. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the show, but it never had the oomph that would make it so special in my eyes. However, after catching up with Season 3, it has proved me wrong.
.
The pilot episode was quite dull, and it didn't draw me in, unlike other shows. But the season got better and better, and the seasons even got better. Season 2 was great, I loved it, I loved the twists and storylines of the season. Too bad that Writers Strike shortened it down.
.
Like Grey's Anatomy and One Tree Hill, I had to catch up with the latest season through the internet because I hadn't watched Season 3 from its premiere. But it gradually got so interesting and entertaining that I began to love the series even more. Season 3 was one of the best of the 2008-2009 seasons out of all my favourite shows, even most episodes were better than "Desperate Housewives", which is my favourite show, so it just shows that it can be just as amazing as the top shows in my eyes.
.
The middle and end of the season was what made the season the best. I loved the family arguments in public places as well as privately, their family bond makes the series watchable and entertaining. I was sad to see Julia go, but Tommy left her no choice I suppose, I think I'll miss Julia more than Tommy. Sarah is my favourite, she was really funny this season, and seeing her land on her feet after all she's been through is really admireable.
.
I recommend giving Brothers & Sisters a chance. I know a few people who turned the series off after the pilot episode, but honestly, the show has gotten so much better since then, and I'm sure I speak for most B&S fans that Season 3 was amazing, and worth buying on DVD.

"Harper's Island" Episodes 1-4 Review

Well I only started watching the series yesterday after a few hints to watch it. The first hint was when I bought the newest Supernatural Magazine from the newsagents that morning, and inside I read about Jim Beaver being in a show called Harper's Island. The second hint came when I was looking through IMDb and read on Katie Cassidy's profile that she was starring in a show called Harper's Island. Then the third hint came when I saw one of my friends on YouTube favourited the Harper's Island trailer. After viewing the trailer I thought it looked good. Then the last hint was when I went on TVShowsOnDVD.com and saw an update for the Harper's Island DVD release. So I decided to watch it finally.
.
And when I finished watching the first episode, I really enjoyed it. I love horror movies, and the show is like a horror movie cut down into 40-minute long episodes. I was thrilled I finally watched it, and the deaths are thrilling, not knowing who will live or die, its like watching a horror movie for the first time, except this is better since I have to wait a whole week to find out who is the next victim, or victims.
.
So far I'm loving the characters and I really wanna know who the killer is, so I'm just gonna have to wait and find out. I have Episodes 5-9 to watch, which I will do later today (02:03am at the moment) and then review them. The first four episodes have been gripping with secrets and deaths, I can't wait to watch it all.

Good News Everyone!

It's been confirmed- 26 brand new episodes of Futurama!
.
But not on FOX, but instead Comedy Central, to begin airing in 2010. The series was cancelled back in 2003, and has since been on reruns and DVD releases that has resurrected the series. Matt Groening will be returning to the series, commenting: "We’re thrilled Futurama is coming back. We now have only 25,766 episodes to make before we catch up with Bender and Fry in the year 3000".
.
Family Guy was also cancelled a while ago and resurrected because of DVD sales, and since the series has done extremely well, even beating the ratings of The Simpsons on occasions. Let's hope Futurama's return will be a new beginning for the series.

Grey's Anatomy 5.24- Now Or Never

Best Season Finale Ever.
.
I was literally stunned at how amazing this episode was. I didn't follow season five on time because I had yet to see season four, being in the UK it really is messed up, the DVD isn't even out yet. So I bought the Region 1 versions and watched Season 4, so I could finally watch Season 5. Season 4 was great, I thorougly enjoyed it.
.
Grey's Anatomy is slowly creeping up to be my favourite show because Season 5 was incredible. Honestly, from the very first episode to the shocking finale, I seriously consider Grey's Anatomy to be the best show of 2008-2009 out of all shows I have seen so far. One part I particularly enjoyed was when they had to do the Kidney domino procedure. When Meredith dropped the kidney, I was stunned. It was such a simple thing but it shocked me.
.
What I loved most about the season is the question whether Izzie lives or dies. I feel so sorry for her, she lived through a lot this year. And I was so pleased with the finale, it was the best season finale yet. One thing that shocked me was George. I did not expect John Doe to be him. When Meredith realized was when I realized and my mouth fell to the floor.
.
Then Izzie! She got passed the surgery, got short term memory loss, then she remembers everything, and then she just goes unconscious! Now I don't know whether George dies or Izzie lives, or if Izzie dies and George lives, or if they both live, or if they both die. I am so looking forward to the season six premiere now, which will be on Thursday September 24, 2009.
.
Altogether an excellent season finale, with the best cliffhanger of 2009 finales!

"Lost" Season Two Review

I am currently watching Lost for the first time all the way through and I bought the DVDs of Seasons 1-4 a while ago and watched Season 1. Season 1 was great, the pilot was compelling and that was amazing to watch. But I have just finished watching Season 2, and while it is fresh in my head, I wanna write what I think down.

Season 1 ended really nicely with the Hatch and everything, and I'm loving all the storylines. The first thing I want to comment on is, if you haven't seen season 2 and you're planning to then I don't want to spoil it for you, is Shannon's death. I thought it was really clever to connect Shannon with the Tail Section Survivors (TSS) since their paths were inevitably going to cross. When Ana Lucia shot Shannon, I really did hate her for doing that as I did like Shannon, she wasn't my favourite but I liked seeing her there because she had such a strong character. So seeing Shannon die in Sayid's arms was quite painful to watch.

One of the few things I didn't like this season was Charlie. I've never really liked him to be honest, I just think he is too clingy and he gets on my nerves when he tries to be funny and just isn't. And then Michael, I haven't liked him either, I though his constant "Walt!" shouting was so annoying I felt sorry for Walt. I was happy when he left, and then he came back. And it was really shocking because he killed (don't read ahead if you don't want to be spoiled) Ana Lucia. And then Libby walked in who I really liked and was about to go on her date with Hurley and Michael shot her twice! I was fuming at him, I was just beginning to like Ana Lucia as well.

One episode that I thought was really good was Episode 21- "?". I just thought it was insanely clever the way they incorporated the aeroplane that Boone died in with the map seen in the Hatch and actually be part of the question mark seen in the map, and that is how Locke and Mr. Eko found a trapdoor leading to a secret room. I thought the writer's did an amazing job with the season.

And the finale was up to standard with season one's finale. I was so glad that Hurley, Jack, Kate and Sawyer find out that Michael is actually the one who killed Ana Lucia and Libby, I really wanted to hit Michael myself for leading them to the Others, he really grinded on me. But I thought it was an amazing story for an amazing season. I am currently watching Season 3 now, hopefully it will be just as good.

"90210" Splashes onto DVD with Cover Art Revealed

Beverly Hills, 90210's spin-off splashes onto DVD with
90210: The Complete First Season

I was pleasantly surprised when watching 90210, I didn't think I would get into it. After a few episodes, I began to like it more and more, and the real reason why I wanted to watch it was for Shannen Doherty from Charmed and the original 90210 series. Even though Brenda Walsh isn't in a lot of episodes, I have enjoyed her being back on a television show. I've never seen the original series, but I am starting to buy the DVDs.

90210 will be coming out in Region 1 on August 11, 2009, while Region 2 don't have to wait as long as usual and will be able to buy the DVD and will get it as early as August 18, 2009, just one week later. I am still unsure whether I should get Region 1 or Region 2, I will decide when they both come out.

There will be behind-the-scenes featurettes about music on the show, fashion, sets and more. The DVD set will also be comprimised in 6 DVD Discs.

'More Moments' in Grey's Anatomy Season Five DVD

'More Moments' to enjoy in
Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Fifth Season

Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Fifth Season is a DVD set I pre-ordered from Amazon.com straight away. Really, Grey's Season 5 was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. I honestly think it was the best show in the 2008-2009 season, there was not one dull moment. I do think they could have came up with a better name for it than 'More Moments', I think they're running out of ideas.

The finale of Grey's, Now Or Never, was the best season finale out of all the ones that aired in May 2009. Out of George and Izzie, I really want Izzie to be alive and pull through, and it was the best cliffhanger of all shows this season. My favourite character is probably Callie, or Izzie, but even so, I hope Izzie returns next season.

I recommend this season to watch, it was non-stop entertainment. This boxset will be released on September 15, 2009 for Region 1, I don't know about Region 2 yet, since the Grey's DVDs take years after Region 1 to come out, which I think is unfair, so Region 2 probably wont get it until about November 2010! Season 4 has yet to come out in the UK!

'Red Hot' Desperate Housewives Season Five DVD Cover

Red Hot Season Five DVD Cover for
Desperate Housewives: The Complete Fifth Season
TvShowsOnDVD.com posted the cover art for Desperate Housewives' fifth season, due for release on September 1, 2009. When I first looked at it I was jumping up with joy- no Katherine! But the downfall is, it looks a little plain. Usually they have something on the slip-on box for the Region 1 versions of the DVDs, and they already took their dresses off for the season 4 DVD. I'm hoping they will put apples on the slip-on box and make it look like the promotional poster, then when you take the box off, you will see them in their dresses looking as gorgeous as ever.
.
I pre-ordered mine from Amazon.com, which allow international shipping for a little extra, and since Region 1 DVDs usually come out before Region 2, I will be one of the first people in the UK to have it, unless other people from England do what I do.

Supernatural Season Four DVD Artwork

'Scary' Supernatural is brought to life in
Supernatural: The Complete Fourth Season

A while ago, the boxart for Supernatural's fourth season DVD was revealed, and I fell in love with it instantly. It's my favourite cover out of all seasons of Supernatural. I live in the UK, so I got Supernatural 1-3 on Region 2. The thing thats different from the Supernatural DVDs in Region 1 is that Season 1 for Region 2 is huge, whereas Season 2 is skinnier, and Season 3 even skinnier. And the sides of Region 2 don't have pictures on and don't really match on the side, except Season 1, that had a picture on the side.

But Region 1 DVDs are all the same size, width and they all match on the side with the title and pictures, and they save a lot more space on my shelf. So I recollected Seasons 1-3 on Region 1, as I did with Desperate Housewives, and they look so much better. I pre-ordered Season 4 from Amazon.com a while ago. It will be released on Tuesday September 1, 2009 for Region 1.

But here is a look at the front and rear artwork for the fourth season's DVD, exclusive from TvShowsOnDVD.com

Supernatural 4.22- Lucifer Rising

Now this was a season finale worth waiting for.

I began watching Supernatural over a year now and it has grown to be one of my favourite television shows of all time as I love horror stuff and urban legends and what Supernatural is basically all about. It's like a darker version of Charmed but instead of 3 sisters there are 2 brothers fighting evil.

I love the name for starters, it like connects with the first episode of the season (Lazarus Rising). The whole season [four] has been building up to this, and I loved the whole 666 seals but only 66 have to be broken and it seems like an impossible mission. There is one seal left, and Sam doesn't know what it is.

The fight between Sam and Dean in the previous episode was pretty intense, but it was quite good to see, now the brothers seem to be fighting each other as well as the evil that threaten their lives- Dean has sided with Castiel and the Angels, as Sam has sided with Ruby, a demon. I really was stunned to find that Ruby was actually manipulating Sam all this time to get him to break the final seal, and I preferred Katie Cassidy's portrayal of Ruby rather than Genevieve Cortese, but Genevieve is still a great actress.

I think the final shot could have been done better. What I was hoping for was the viewers to see Lucifer actually rise from Hell, looking all ugly and creepy and downright scary and saying a quirky witty line that symbolizes, of course, the apocolypse. Instead the screen went all white and that was the end of the season.

Cliffhangers have been quite weak for most shows this 2008-2009 television season. But overall, I loved the finale, and the whole season in general.

Ghost Whisperer 4.23- Book of Changes

It seems that the television season finales this year have been a little disappointing, and I have to say I love Ghost Whisperer, but the finale was disappointing.

The first thing I hated was Eli James. All season he has been in the spotlight and I really don't like him, I think he kinda ruined the season for me, but all in all, I did enjoy season four. Now the finale should have been about Melinda and Jim, and the beginning and end were about them 2, but unfortunatly the whole middle, which was most of the episode, Eli had more lines than Melinda, Jim, Delia and Ned combined.

The second thing that really made me disappointed is that it had no usual cliffhanger. The cliffhanger in season one was Romano creeping up behind Andrea's spirit (love Andrea, I miss her so much), and the second season finale's cliffhanger was Melinda having died was resurrected and reveals she has a brother- Gabriel. And season three's cliffhanger (which is my favourite season thus far) had the six characters but only five shadows. Was one of them dead? Was one of them going to die? These things make me gag for the next season, but I'm not looking forward to Season 5 as much as I would be if I had of been left on a cliffhanger.

But, the positives are the fact that ANDREA MARINO was mentioned and her name was seen in the Book of Changes. I am so thrilled that they included her (I asked Aisha Tyler if Andrea was coming back, she told me she had no plans with Ghost Whisperer at the minute). At the end when all the spirits appear to attend Melinda's and Sam's wedding, I have in my mind that one of them was Andrea, it isn't confirmed or anything, but I like to think she was there.

And also the ending was really heartwarming with Melinda and Sam's wedding, it was such a sweet way to end. But I didn't want sweet, I wanted creepy cliffhanger!!

Desperate Housewives 5.24- If It's Only In Your Head

Is it just me, or am I not the only one who loved the season five finale?

I have heard a lot of complaints about season five, and I've complained a lot too, Desperate Housewives is kind of losing that flair that I originally fell in love with in season one. The show has changed so much in five years, and it has its positives and its negatives.

Desperate Housewives is my favourite show, and thus far Season 4 is my favourite out of the 5 seasons that have aired. 'Bang' remains to be my favourite all-time episode, I mean, who doesn't love that intense hostage situation with Lynette being the hero and Susan with her hostage-exchange, and Gabby and Carlos's fight.

But getting on topic, season 5 hasn't been the best it could be. We said goodbye to Edie Britt in 'Look Into Their Eyes and You See What They Know' and I absolutely adore Edie, I am really gonna miss her a lot, and I feel sad that she had to depart in a not-so-great season. But when I saw her in the first half of the 2-hour season finale, it really made my day, and its sad to think that Edie's small cameo was my main highlight of the finale.

I did love the first part as well, and I loved the second part, and I adored the Susan/Dave/MJ scenes, they were intense, and Edie coming back for less than a minute was just the cherry (pardon the pun, unintentional) on the cake.

I am intrigued about Ana, the way they introduce her mystery was sloppy though with the two women talking, but I have high hopes for season 6, and I am soo glad Gabby is gonna get the mystery spotlight this season.

I was loving the Brarl thing tonight, but Orson was pulling an Edie in blackmailing Bree, it's been done before, but I feel sorry for Bree this time, because she is in a really difficult position, I hope she gets through it.

Lynette, I found her funny in the episodes, and I was shocked to find out she was having twins, I was like "oh no" but in a good way, because I can imagine what they can do with her character now.

And I don't like Katherine, but I felt sooo sorry for her in the airport when Mike left, I know I sometimes wish she would get her heartbroken and I would laugh at her expense, but Dana is too good of an actress, she really made me feel sorry for Katherine that I couldn't laugh, I wanted to give her a hug, and Season 6 will be a new slate for me, I am erasing the Season 5 Katherine from my mind and I am giving her a fresh new start, I know she can be better, and I hope the writers catch on, if she comes back being bitchy, then I know I will love her

Overall, not the best cliffhanger, but I really think its Katherine, she wouldn't feel Mike pulling away from her if they weren't together, so I am more than postitive it's Katherine, the kiss between Mike and Susan could have just been heat of the moment, and tell each other that it shouldnt happen again, and try to move on, and Mike marries Katherine as he promised, and then he's gonna feel like he's made a mistake and start pulling away and realize he is madly in love with Susan.

But Edie coming back was my main highlight, and I'm very sad that Season 5 is over, and I'm quite sad that the middle of the season was a little messy, season 6 will bring the standard back up, I can just feel it.
